Brace yourself for a magical festive escapade through the heart of Europe that will leave you stunned, enthralled and more than a little excited. This is a journey through some of the continent's most iconic cities - Paris, Munich and Prague but we literally take you to the heights of Europe in the Swiss Alps. All combined with the biggest party season of the year, it's enough to give you goose bumps just thinking about it...
Check in and meet your Guide around 2pm at St. Christopher's Hostel, in Paris, City of Lights! They will give you the low-down on your spectacular festive adventure ahead, before you head out to explore Paris. At this time of year the French capital is stunning and you will find it hard to choose between the famous icons or the best Christmas shopping you can imagine. Tonight you have the option to join our Paris Night Bike tour, taking in all the wonderful Parisian sights, before heading on a boat trip down the River Seine.
Meet your Guide early and get ready to board the coach to Switzerland. Today we will drive through the French countryside and head to the heart of Switzerland, Lauterbrunnen, a stunning Alpine village located in the famous Jungfrau region.
Wake up to one of the most picturesque villages you'll ever see. The day is yours to explore the 'Top of Europe' and all the attractions of this quaint village and its neighbouring towns. The Alpine scenery is simply breathtaking so if you would like to try your hand at skiing or snowboarding, speak to your Guide who can help you arrange equipment and a pass to some of the best slopes in the area.
We depart Switzerland and head to Austria and the traditional village idyll of Gruenau. Surrounded by awesome Alpine scenery with majestic mountains and stunning lakes, there's no better place to head for Christmas. There'll be a scrumptious Christmas Eve dinner awaiting our arrival. Gerhard, our host for the next two nights, will ensure this is your home away from home.
Wake up, Skype the family back home and get set for one of the best Christmas Days ever! Explore the quaint village and shops or get back on your skis or snowboard and head to the slopes. There is some great skiing just a walk from our pension, everything from beginner runs to black runs, with great places to enjoy some festive Après Ski. Later in the afternoon, we'll enjoy Christmas Dinner with all the trimming and try some of the local schnapps, to celebrate the festive season together.
We leave Gruenau after breakfast. Our first stop of the day is Salzburg, the home of Mozart and the Sound of Music and a magical city during the winter. Your Guide will take you on an orientation of the town, before we grab some lunch and head on to Munich where we'll cross the border into Bavaria, Germany. This country is is a great place to visit during winter and Munich is no exception. Your Guide will orientate you around the city and show you all the highlights before heading to one of our favourite beerhalls for some pork knuckle and a few litres of beer – prost!
We cross the border over to the Czech Republic and journey on to the UNESCO world heritage listed town of Cesky Krumlov. We stay in a fabulous hotel just a ten minute walk to the centre of this picture perfect town. Wander the cobblestone streets, visit the castle and enjoy a scrumptious dinner and locally brewed ale at the Eggenburg brewery.
A sad farewell to Cesky, however it's time to hit the capital of the Czech Republic, the Bohemian city of Prague. Your Guide will take you on a walking tour through this amazing city, starting from the castle and heading through the old town all the way to the famous Wencecslas Square. Grab some lunch before heading to our hostel for the night. There are some great local traditional restaurants around that your Guide can recommend, plus a great hostel bar and happening clubs just a short walk away.
With so much to see and do, today is your free day to explore Prague. With its awesome winding streets and medieval architecture, the city looks utterly brilliant during the festive season. Get stuck in and enjoy everything it has to offer.
Today we leave the Czech Republic and head to the capital of Germany, Berlin. This city is one of Europe's most diverse and fascinating destinations, from the most happening underground nightlife to modern history, you can't help but adore this place. On our way we'll visit Dresden, once known as the 'Florence of the North'. Your Guide, will take you on an orientation walk of the town, showing you all the must see sights of the capital of Saxony, Germany. After lunch, it's just a short trip to Berlin, where we'll check into our centrally located hostel.
It's the big night and what better city to enjoy it in! This morning we have a walking tour where you'll truly get an understanding of Berlin's past and present. Take the rest of the day to explore before joining us for a truly spectacular New Year's Eve party!
Time to say goodbye after breakfast. Head on or perhaps book our optional transfer to Amsterdam and carry on the party!
