Travel by train and bus to the town of Uyuni, home base for salt flat exploration.

Transport:
Local bus (4.00-5.00 hours)
Climb aboard, grab a seat, and enjoy the ride. If travelling on a day when the train is not operating, you will take an overnight bus from La Paz departing at 19:00 and arriving in Uyuni at 06:00 the next morning.

03

Day 3: Uyuni/Salar de Uyuni (1B, 1D)

Travel through the Bolivian landscape to the town of Uyuni. Despite its isolation and challenging climate (cold and blustery most of the year), the town of Uyuni has earned the nickname of Hija Predilecta de Bolivia (Bolivia's Favourite Daughter).

It is also the starting point for our three day excursion through the spectacular Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Flats) in 4x4 vehicles.

Additional Notes:
We offer unique accommodation on the Uyuni Salt Flats. Instead of very basic refuges and homestays most operators use, we have upgraded to simple hotels that are equipped with solar panels to provide electricity and hot water. Rooms are multi-share and each has a private bathroom. Meals are made from local ingredients, most of which are grown on-site.

During the rainy season the locations visited may change due to some routes being covered by water.

Included Activities:
Salt Flats Excursion

04

Day 4: Salar de Uyuni (1B, 1L, 1D)

Continue exploring the Uyuni Salt Flats on a 4x4 excursion. Admire the spectacular scenery while passing red and blue lagoons along the route. Spot wild llamas, alpacas and even flamingos deep within the desert.

Included Activities:
Salt Flats Excursion

05

Day 5: Salar de Uyuni/Uyuni (1B, 1L)

I really enjoyed the trip from Bolivia to Brazil. I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see in Bolivia, particularly the trip onto the salt flats, and I enjoyed the limited number of tourists there as compared to Peru in the first half of the trip. Overall I had a great time.

It was an unforgettable experience, the most amazing trip I ever had. The biggest surprise was Bolivia with all its hidden natural beauty. The thing which made the whole trip very relaxing was that everything went well as it was planned - thanks to the hard work of our tourguide (and a bit to our luck). Gart did a terrific job, he was always there when we needed anything and made sure everybody was having a good time. He organized various group activities (e.g. games, dinners) in the evening which was definitely outside of his duties.

It was a great tour. The highlights were certainly the salt flats and desert in Bolivia, the Pantanal in Brazil as well as the Iguassu Falls in Argentinia. I was astonished by the beauty of the country. Therefore if your time of travelling is limited and you want to get the best out of a trip I can really recommend it to anybody.
