Day 1: Los Angeles - Las Vegas

You've seen it in the movies, now it's time to kick-start your epic cross country American road trip in the 'City of Angels'. Visit Hollywood Boulevard for a stroll down the Walk of Fame and grab that all important photo in front of the gigantic Hollywood sign. Things are about to get a whole lot hotter as you travel east to the desert city of Las Vegas and cruise down The Strip like a total legend in a party bus. With all this excitement you’ll definitely be feeling hungry, so treat yourself to an all-you-can eat buffet, yum! For your next course, you might like to take in a show, or just watch the amazing crowds and neon signs as the glitzy hotels try to outdo each other with spectacular attractions. Day 3: Zion National Park

One visit to Zion National Park and you'll be left feeling super-inspired! This is one of the most stunning national parks in the USA. The Virgin River runs through the very heart of the park and an afternoon spent relaxing here and enjoying the views is an afternoon well spent, yes indeed! For the ultimate viewpoint, hike to the famous Angels Landing which offers 360 degree views of the entire park, trust us when we say the challenge is definitely worth it when you reach the top. If you prefer to take the low road, explore ‘The Narrows’ with its soaring walls, sandstone grottos and natural springs. It truly is a unique experience with great views of Zion from the valley floor too.

Day 4: Bryce Canyon National Park

Wanna see some crazy rock formations? Well, you're in the right place! Bryce Canyon National Park is famed for its hoodoos - weird and wonderful tall rock spires shaped by the elements and arranged in rows. Native Americans believe these crazy shapes to be ‘Legend People’ who were turned to stone for their sins, but we'll let you decide. Start with epic views from the top of Bryce Canyon, then venture down into the canyon on the park's system of walking trails to encounter the kaleidoscope of colours up close.

Day 5: Antelope Canyon - Lake Powell

The scenery just keeps getting better with an included stop at Antelope Canyon. Explore within the curved canyon walls and see beautifully bizarre shafts of light coming down through the rocks; Antelope Canyon is one seriously incredible place. After all that exploring wash off the desert dust in the refreshing waters of Lake Powell. Straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is a desert paradise. Go for a late afternoon swim in the crystal clear water or simply sit by the shore and relax.

Day 6-7: Grand Canyon National Park

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Southwest, Horseshoe Bend makes for an impressive stop. Next up, you’ll witness the epic Grand Canyon, one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Natural World’. With two days you have plenty of time to hike the rim trails for those incredible views, looking down into the belly of the canyon. Or hike down into the canyon for a different perspective, and become one of only 5% of visitors to venture inside. If you want to get a little more extreme, opt for a helicopter flight over the Canyon for the ultimate bird's-eye view! Ready for the best bit? Day 8: Monument Valley

You’re on the road again, and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes, Monument Valley, used as the set for countless Western movies. It's the incredible Navajo people who really make Monument Valley the super special place it is today. Immerse yourself in their culture on an optional guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and backroads. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape during the day, and when the sun goes down, swap campfire stories under a blanket of stars. Day 9-10: Arches National Park - Moab

Utah's undisputed adventure capital guarantees non-stop fun, so this one's for you adventure junkies! With two days in Moab, you'll have plenty of time to explore this incredible place. Discover some of the 2,000 gravity defying sandstone arches in Arches National Park and take a sunset stroll to watch the sun set over Delicate Arch. For the action lovers, hire a mountain bike for some adrenaline pumping cycling along Moab's slick rock path, or take an extreme Hummer tour. Day 14: Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Journey into New Mexico and through the extra-terrestrial town of Roswell, where they say aliens crashed to the earth and they have proof. You'll just have to decide for yourself! Head on to Carlsbad Caverns National Park to explore one of the oldest cave systems in the world. Gnarled limestone stalactites hang from the ceiling like icicles, and stalagmites that look like twisting totem poles reach upwards. Did you know that when bats fly out of their cave they always turn left? Put this fact to the test with an optional Bat Flight Amphitheatre visit tonight!

Day 15: West Texas

Welcome to the mighty state of Texas! You'll soon discover everything's supersized in the 'Lone Star State', from the steaks to the hats. The second biggest state has plenty of cacti, cowboys and Southern hospitality to offer; there really is nowhere else quite like it.

Day 16-17: Austin

Austin is the self-proclaimed live music capital of America, so get ready for an electric, cultural and artistic city with a hippie soul. Live music can be heard almost any night of the week in town but there are a host of other things to fill your time too. These include a state capitol tour, a visit to Barton Springs, or sampling the local cuisine from one of the many food trucks in the city.

Day 18: Louisiana

As you leave Texas behind and enter Louisiana, you'll be greeted with the distinctive sounds of jazz and the sweet, sweet smells of creole cuisine. Day 19-20: New Orleans

New Orleans simmers with Deep South charm so pull up a chair in the French Quarter to watch the world go by and grab a po-boy, a bowl of gumbo or some home-cooked jambalaya for a taste of the South - or a delicious sugary beignet if you've got more of a sweet tooth! If the food of the Deep South gets your mouth watering, why not join a cookery course at the New Orleans School of Cookery, so you can make life back home a little tastier with your new-found skills? For something a little different, opt for a 'Voodoo and Graveyard' tour or cruise along the Mississippi River on a traditional steamboat. Day 22-23: Orlando

There are plenty of options for a fun day out amongst Orlando's theme parks. Whether you choose Disney's Magic Kingdom or Universal's Harry Potter World, Orlando is one big playground and brings out the big kid in us all, no matter how old you are, so don’t try to fight it! After all that excitement, you'll sleep like a baby.

Day 24-25: Key West

Hit the water and swim, snorkel or go diving to explore the crystal clear waters of Key West, where the possibilities for water based fun are endless. We've laid on a tour of this eclectic area, finishing with an optional visit to Ernest Hemingway's House. Day 26-27: Miami

The wonderful city of Miami beckons with miles of golden sand beaches and palm trees; it is easy to see why people flock here. Seek out SoBe (aka South Beach) and stroll along the art deco seafront or pose with the beautiful people on sugary sand before heading to the ultra-cool nightspots. We're pretty sure you'll never tire of seeing the palm trees blowing in the summer breeze.

Day 28: St. Augustine

St Augustine is the oldest continually inhabited European settlement on US soil, more commonly known as the ‘Nation's Oldest City’. Wander down the narrow lanes, visit the many museums and explore some of the city's iconic landmarks such as the Spanish-influenced Plaza de la Constitucion and the ‘Fountain of Youth'.

Day 29: Charleston

Charleston is the oldest city in South Carolina and just oozes character. What better way to experience it than with a stroll along the coast. Take photos of the Morris Island Lighthouse that stands several hundred feet offshore or jump aboard an optional Charleston water taxi, where you could spot some interesting wildlife. Experience the ultimate taste of the South with a Charleston Nasty Biscuit, a chicken biscuit (which is actually more like a scone) covered in gravy. It's delicious and a favourite with the locals!

Day 30: North Carolina

Day 31-32: Washington, DC

Then it's on to Washington DC for an introduction to the political, social and cultural history of the United States of America. Take time to experience the very best of America's capital city by people watching in one of the many green parks or explore the Smithsonian National Museums, the world's largest museum complex. Join your included bike tour led by a local to tick off all the stunning monuments, it's a great way to explore the city. You may want to take the bus into the city and hit the bars and clubs of Georgetown to discover the treasures of this town by night.

Day 33: Philadelphia - New York Area

Your epic 33 day road trip is almost coming to an end, but before it does, travel to Philadelphia where you can climb the famous 'Rocky' steps for your own movie moment. Also on the tick list is the iconic symbol of American independence, the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall. Head to Reading Terminal Market on an empty stomach and be prepared to be overwhelmed with delicious smells and flavours. One thing you have to try is the famous Philly cheesesteak lunch! There's no better place to end your awesome adventure than in the New York area. We recommend you book yourself a couple of extra nights at the end of your tour so you can head into New York and really make the most of this unbelievable city. From a trip up the Empire State Building, to a shopping spree along Fifth Avenue, the opportunities are endless.
