Prepare yourself to visit one of the most well-preserved archaeological sites on the planet. Once the ancient world’s largest commercial centre, Ephesus, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis and her enormous temple here was named one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. The city’s wealth contributed to its splendid architecture and the latest reconstruction of the city dates from the third century BC. As you enter the city through the Magnesia Gate, you will walk downhill through the ruins of this Roman capital past the Odeum, the Fountain of Trajan, the Temple of Hadrian, the Celsus Library and the Great Theatre with 25,000 seats. St. Paul once preached to the Ephesians here, and today it is used as a venue for a local festival in spring. Learn about the history of this incredible city as you see the agora, baths, gymnasium and the final home of Virgin Mary, recognized by the Vatican as the Virgin Mary’s final resting place. A small shrine was found here when the house in the Solmissos Mountains was discovered. After an exciting day full of history and archaeology, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Selcuk.

Daily Pamukkale Tour (B/L)
Today you will be picked up at your accommodation between 8:30 - 9:00 am for your exciting day trip to Pamukkale and Hierapolis.
Pamukkale, known as “cotton castle”, is one of the most breathtaking natural phenomena in Turkey. The calcium-rich waters of the waterfalls have built up over time solidifying into a formation called travertine appearing as though it were made of cotton balls or snow. The result of the sunlight bouncing off these bizarre calcium formations creates a dazzling image as the color changes depending on the angle of the light. Enjoy some time here to take pictures and soak in the radiance of this unforgettable natural wonder.
The, visit the Hierapolis ruins dating from the 1st century BC, built by the former king of Pergamon, Eumenes II. Hierapolis was once a thermal bath centre during Roman times in the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Explore the extensive ruins of this incredible site to see the remnants of the city walls, the Temple of Apollo, the Theatre, the Martyrium of St. Phillip and the 2-kilometre wide Necropolis with tombs, one of the best-preserved cemeteries in Anatolia. The hot springs here, situated on a plateau have been used for thousands of years for their therapeutic waters.
The Roman bath is now an archaeology museum displaying remains of this great civilisation as well as artifacts found in other sites such as Lycus Valley, Attuda, Tripolis, Colossae and Laodicea.
