Day 1

Arrive St. Petersburg
Welcome to Russia’s ‘Venice of the north’ and your launching Pad for your epic adventure on our Vodkatrain Journey! Walk through the city’s imperial, fairy tale-like streets and then treat yourself at Yeliseev’s Food hall! If museums are your thing, for something different, check out the Soviet Arcade Machine Museum, the Faberge museum or the very unusual Kunstkamera Museum of Curiosities. Your Honcho will meet you in the hotel lobby at 5pm for a Pre-departure meeting. After your meeting the night is yours to explore!


Day 2

St. Petersburg
Take in the sights and discover the local live music scene, your Honcho is sure to have some favourites. Wander the labyrinth of canals and beautiful bridges, visit the spectacular Hermitage Museum (with the world’s largest collection of paintings) or venture outside of the city to the summer retreat of the Tsars in the town of Pushkin.


Day 3

St. Petersburg to Moscow
Visit the Grand Avenue of Nevsky Prospekt before boarding our evening train to Moscow.


Day 4

Rise and shine! We arrive into the capital in the very early hours of the morning - take in the iconic sight of St. Basil’s swirling, colourful cupolas and the impressive Red Square. Perhaps check out the amazing treasures in the Armoury, go 18 stories down into an old bunker or explore the glitzy stores of GUM department store.


Day 5

Spend some time in Gorky Park or the Fallen Monuments Park, head to the space museum or admire the many gorgeous churches and museums. Ensure you take a ride in the worlds most beautiful and famous metro system - every station is a masterpiece!


Day 6

Moscow to Irkutsk
After a morning of further exploration of Moscow, you will return to the station to board your train to Irkutsk - All aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway!


Day 7

Tran-Siberian Railway
Watch the ever-changing landscapes flicker past your window or head to the dining car and practice your Russian.

Hello Siberia!
Morning arrival into Irkutsk and out to Lake Baikal - go for a refreshing swim and try the lake’s famous, tasty fish!


Day 11

Lake Baikal
Soak in the scenery and enjoy a hike along Baikal’s beautiful shores, or wander down to the market and try the local delicacy Omul. Depending on the weather the lake may be ideal for a dip in the sunshine or frozen enough for snow activities.


Day 12

Return to Irkutsk
This morning we make our way back to Irkutsk where you can explore the story of high society exile. This evening we board the train to Ulaanbaatar.


Day 13

Trans Mongolian Railway
Catch a glimpse of your first yak in Mongolia and witness the incredible landscapes from your train window.


Day 14

Welcome to the land of the mighty Genghis Khan. Early morning you arrive into Mongolia’s capital - Ulaanbaatar. Perhaps visit the giant Genghis statue or check out the city’s ‘Black Market’ - (nothing too dodgy here, just interesting instruments, souvenirs and random goods!).


Day 15

Terelj National Park
Beyond the city lies the endless rolling steppe of Terelj National Park. Settle in to life as a nomad staying in our ger camp. Explore Aryabal Temple and see the parks unique rock formations along with breath-taking views. If you’re feeling adventurous jump aboard a Mongolian horse for a ride across the valley or try your hand in some archery!

Day 17

Terelj National Park to Ulaanbaatar
Relax in the serenity of the wide-open steppe and learn about the nomadic way of life before returning to Ulaanbaatar.


Day 18

Mongolia to Beijing
Back on the train nice and early, you glide through the Gobi Desert and cross your final border into China.


Day 19

Midday arrival into Beijing - Check out the hutongs, markets or Tiananmen Square. Test out your haggling skills at one of the many colourful markets in Beijing, wander through the ancient hutongs on foot or by rickshaw - this is a city oozing history and fascinating sights you just need to decide where to start!


Day 20

Tick one off the bucket list - China’s Great Wall or see the gorgeous gorges, caves and gardens of Longquing Gorge. Peking duck anyone?


Day 21

Your epic Vodkatrain adventure ends this morning,
