Get to know Sri Lanka`s jungles, hills, cities and villages on this 6-day whistle stop tour! Travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to some of the country`s highlights with your English-speaking guide who will entertain you with stories and knowledge of Sri Lanka and its past. Accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis in carefully selected hotels to use as a base while you see the sights! Activities include trekking through the jungle, white water rafting and enjoying a safari adventure in Udawalawe National Park. You will have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Sinharaja tropical rainforest before continuing on to Colombo. You could even stay a bit longer for some relaxing beach life before you leave this magical island!

Day 1

Airport to Kitulgala (approx 4 1/2 hours travelling)
Ayubowan - you have arrived! Welcome to Sri Lanka!
Head to Kitulgala. On the way from the airport stop for a delicious Tambili (King Coconut) to quench your thirst and re-hydrate after a long flight. Kitulgala offers rafting on Grade 3 and 4 rapids for down the Kelani River.
Travel through jungle-clad hills and plantations growing low-country tea and rubber. Just across the Kelani River is a small, lush primeval forest, home to about 54 rare species of birds, including the indigenous white owl.
One can chose from Rafting, kayaking, jungle trekking and cave explorations to pump up some adrenaline. - (Activities to be paid for direct by clients)

Day 2

Ratnapura (approx 2 hour travelling)
After breakfast transfer to Ratnapura.
Ratnapura is home to a long-established gem industry. It is here that villagers from the surrounding gem fields gather to sell their precious stones to local gem merchants, international traders and tourists.
Optional activity - and could be paid direct by clients
Nature lovers should not miss the Sinharaja tropical rainforest. Declared by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site, trekking through this bewildering land of exotic colours and wonderful sounds is an experience of a lifetime.


Day 3

Embilipitiya (approx 2 hour travelling)
After breakfast transfer to Embilipitiya.
P.M. 4WD Jeep Safari to Udawalawe National Park, (Aprx 3-4 hours jeep safari and not a full day safari), which is most famous for the many elephants that live there (about 400 in total). During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds - adults and young, feeding and bathing or playing in the water!
In addition to this main attraction, the park is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, as well as being an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.


Day 4

Nuwara Eliya (approx 4 1/2 hours travelling)
After breakfast transfer to Hill country en-route visit Tea Factory / Plantation.
Rug up today you head to cooler climbs - 6500ft


Day 5

To Colombo (approx 5 hours travelling)
After breakfast transfer to Colombo.
In the afternoon experience a personalized tour of Colombo. Start at Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple and Simamalaka Shrine designed by Sri Lanka`s leading architect Geoffrey Bawa. All guests can be blessed by the local monk (this will be purely on availability basis and according to the situation on the particular day)


Day 6

To Airport (approx 45 mins travelling)
It`s time to leave the isle of Serendipity!
Stop for your last Tambili on the way to the airport!
