The moment you've been waiting for - touchdown in the hot, hustling, manic and magical city of Bangkok. Today you're free to relax and float about in our hotel just off famous Khao San Road, before we meet up as a team later for our first foodie experience. Save your appetite, because this evening we're headed straight to the banks of Bangkok's famous Chao Phraya River, where you'll become acquainted with your travel fam over some authentic local food. It's our treat, and it's just the starter for great things to come.
After tucking in to a buffet breakfast we'll board a local train, sit back and admire the scenic journey along salt and rice paddies into the famous Mae Klong railway market. Once we've explored this quirky market's tropical fruit, Thai sweets and fresh vegetables on offer, we'll embark onto a traditional long-tail boat and ride from the small side canals into the Mae Klong River, passing traditional style houses and a riverbank fringed with palm trees. Soon we'll arrive at the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. For lunch today we're invited to visit a local homestay where you'll be treated to a mouthwatering homestyle meal, served with a lesson on the essentials of the herbs, spices and vegetables used in Thai cooking.
Today the city of Bangkok is yours to explore, then this evening we're embarking on a street food tour with a twist: in a classic tuk-tuk. Jump in, and the streets will be ours to roam and sample a range of traditional fare like satay, Pad Thai and green curry on the go. We'll stop at a range of different eateries, exploring the flavours of both the historic old town and off the beaten track to more locally-known areas, to give us a full smorgasbord of a foodie experience. If you're up for keeping the evening going, you're free to make your way to one of the many lively rooftop bars, buzzy nightclubs or cocktail lounges to toast your final night in Bangkok.
Rise and shine, today we're off to Phuket. Get ready to slip into island life and soak up what this paradise has to offer in the ways of sunshine, sparkling emerald waters and palm-fringed tropical beaches.Later this evening we're going to get a masterclass in creating Thai cuisine with Pum & her team. As you're taught the art of combining the sweet, salty, sour & spicy elements that Thai food is so well known for, you'll be getting hands-on with noodles, soups & a stir-fry. Watch out Masterchef!
Today you're free to swim at one of Phuket's many beaches, soak up some sweet sunshine or just lie in a hammock, sipping fresh coconut milk. Or if you're feeling more adventurous, you can opt to head out onto the balmy Andaman Sea for the day. The clear tropical waters here are rich with colourful marine life and make for one unreal trip of a snorkelling experience.
Laters Thailand! Our noses will lead us to a whole new country today: Malaysia. First stop, Penang.Check in, throw down the bags, and hit the streets. Penang is a haven for the senses, blending Malaysian and Indian influences for an eclectic mix of delicious street eats, unmatched anywhere else in Asia. This evening we're going to hit the ground running with an evening hawker market tour to introduce us to the spicy and aromatic-filled world of Malaysian cuisine.
Today we'll be visiting the vibrant suburb and UNESCO listed Georgetown. First on the agenda is a morning cooking class to get us accustomed to the spicy and aromatic filled world of the Malay cuisine. Later be whisked into a world of temples and street art that makes Georgetown famous.
Penang, you've been good to us, but today the delicious street food of Kuala Lumpur is calling our names.When we arrive in KL, an included city orientation will get us acquainted with the old and new quarters of the city, and we'll tick off iconic sights like the Petronas Twin Towers and the King's Palace. Tonight we'll toast our arrival with an authentic Malay dinner at an elegant restaurant with a modern twist, a perfect introduction to a city seamlessly blending tradition with the new.
Today is yours to discover the beauty and charm of the diverse, multicultural city of Kuala Lumpur. This is a full free day, so it's also your chance to opt to head to the Batu Caves, one of Malaysia’s national treasures and holiest Hindu sites. Once you're greeted by the 40m tall statue of Lord Murugan, this ancient limestone hill comprising of three major caves and a number of smaller ones will make your jaw drop.
We came, we saw, we ate! After saying goodbye to KL, we've got one last big city in our sights: Singapore. We'll hop on a quick flight and before we know it, we'll arrive on the famous island city.Landing in our final destination of Singapore, we bet you're probably determined to sample as much of the local cuisine as is humanly possible. This evening you can get ready to do just that, as we're treated to an evening hawker's market tour, including street food tastings in Chinatown, Little India, the Golden Mile and Marine Parade.
Tonight is about experiencing Singapore in style, but before we end our trip the day is yours to explore Singapore. No visit to Singapore is complete without a visit to Raffles, the birthplace of the classic Singapore Sling, and it would be rude not to try one. Next stop is dinner at Marina Bay Sands. We'll complete our evening by enjoying an unforgettable experience at the Marina Bay Sands Skypark, with a surreal view of the Singapore skyline from 200m in the air.
