This supersized mountain chain is around 2,400km (1,500 miles) long and stretches all the way from Canada to Alabama. Enjoy some epic road trip scenery as you drive along and on your short walk, and keep an eye out for wildlife including the American Black Bear.

Say hello to the 'Home of Country Music', a place that everyone falls in love with, even if they aren't originally a fan of country music! Grab your Stetson and head out to the Wild Horse Saloon for live music and line dancing, then get your history fix at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. Nashville is famous for its fine music and even finer food, so try the local specialities including hot chicken and BBQ ribs before relaxing in one the city's many beautiful parks.

Next you're off to Memphis, located by the Mississippi River, which has a long and colourful past. Make sure you take part in an optional visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley - the second-most visited private home in the USA after the White House! This city has a rich musical history, so make sure to see where the likes of BB King and Johnny Cash recorded some of their famous hits at the iconic Sun Studio. In the evening, dance the night away in the bars and blues clubs of Beale Street.

Search for gators and other wildlife on an included Louisiana swamp tour, where you'll slowly drift past ancient Indian burial mounds and fishing villages while taking in the unique scenery of the mysterious bayous of Cajun country. Then we're talking all that jazz! Hear the real deal at Preservation Hall or do the Huckleberry Finn thing as you chug along the Mississippi River on a steamboat ride. New Orleans simmers with Deep South charm so grab a po-boy, a bowl of gumbo or some home-cooked jambalaya and pull up a chair in the French Quarter to watch the world go by. Why not see New Orleans in a very different way by opting for a 'Voodoo and Graveyard' tour with a visit to Marie Laveau's Voodoo shop? By night, explore the bars in Frenchman Street for live music and dancing without the crowds.

Meet your childhood hero, Mickey Mouse, or if that isn't your thing then battle Voldemort at Universal Studios' Harry Potter World. If you choose to cross the final frontier at Kennedy Space Center, you can get up close and personal to NASA's launch and landing facilities and enjoy interactive simulators. Whatever you decide to do there is definitely no growing up allowed!
