Awash with adrenaline-pumping activities and beautiful sights to see, and with fantastic local guides, this Cairns budget holiday may be affordable, but it doesn’t scrimp on the fun. * This is not a fully guided tour. You will only have a guide on the included activities
This tour wastes no time in getting you into the action - on Day 1 be prepared to take on the mighty Tully River for some white-water rafting! Spend five hours rushing and spinning down the Grade 3 to 4 rapids through the middle of a World Heritage listed rainforest, although you may not have the time to fully appreciate its beauty. Refuel with a barbecue lunch riverside before heading back out there and tackling the lower half of the river, returning to Cairns in the evening.
Next, spend the day touring the Cairns Highlands’ picturesque waterfall circuit. Visit the spectacular crater lakes, waterfalls and rainforests, with the chance for a refreshing swim before stopping for lunch in the quaint village of Yungaburra.
No visit to Cairns would be complete without a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Spend hours snorkelling with the fish and vibrant coral at two different outer reef locations on this unique educational experience. Indigenous Rangers recount Dreamtime stories and share with you the culture and history of these spectacular outer reef sites. Devour a delicious buffet lunch before going for an optional scuba drive (at extra cost) then head back to Cairns.
Hang out in the wild on Day 4 at Cape Tribulation. See crocodiles on a Daintree river cruise, floating past a stunning rainforest, not to mention the oldest in the world! Make some animal friends at the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife sanctuary. Set over eight acres of exotic Australian rainforest and bush land, walk across timber boardwalks from a lush tropical canopy to the dense forest floor and take in the sights of adorable endangered species such as the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo and the Southern Cassowary. Cuddle a koala, hold a freshwater crocodile or meet a python - the choice is yours!
