Sapa by Express Bus OD

Sa Pa is located in Lao Cai Province, 380 km north-west of Hanoi, and close to the border with China. The town scenery is dominated by Hoang Lien Son mountain range which is the eastern extremity of the Himalayas. This range includes Vietnam`s highest mountain, Fan Si Pan, at a height of 3143 m above sea level. Sa Pa is a quiet mountain town and home to a great diversity of ethnic minority peoples. Most of the ethnic minority people work their land on sloping terraces which have recently been recognized as national heritage. Sapa has become an important tourist hub of the province attracting a large number of tourists who come to walk the hundreds of miles of trekking trails between and around the villages.

Itinerary

01

Day 1

Pick up at hotels in the old quarter from 06:30 hrs (Hotel pick-up will be provided free-of-charge for guests staying at hotels in the old quarter. Pick-up outside the old quarter should be surcharged and paid on the spot
06:45 - 07:00 hrs. Boarding at Sapa Express bus station for a wonderful ride to Sapa by the new Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful landscape along the road. Arrive in Sapa at around 13:00 hrs you will be picked up by local guide and shown to your hotel. Check in and have lunch.
In the afternoon you will climb up the legendary Ham Rong Mount to visit the botanical garden with various rare flower and Indochina orchid species, then work your way through the “Heaven Gates” and the mini “stone forest” to reach the cloud platform for a breath-taking panoramic view of Sapa town.
Have dinner and the evening is free to explore the charms of Sapa by night. You may want to taste the local snacks like roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire or go shopping.

Day 2

SAPA - CAT CAT VILLAGE (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel and then start trekking to Cat Cat village which is inhabited by the Black H’mongs. The village bears the name of the cascade of waterfalls where the French built a small hydroelectric power station to serve the then small colonialist population of the Sapa Hill Station. The traces of the station can now be found at the turbine house which has been transformed into a small stage for the local art troupe. Walking along the village path you will have chance to get an insight into the tribal way of life of the ethnic minority people while enjoying wonderful views of the terraced rice fields and the waterfall. Back to Sapa for lunch. The afternoon is free for you to further explore the town on your own.
Have dinner and the evening is free to explore the charms of Sapa by night.

Day 3

LAO CHAI - TA VAN VILLAGE - EXPRESS BUS TO HANOI (B/L/-)
After breakfast you will walk further down the Muong Hoa Valley to Lao Chai - Ta Van Village for more insights in to the family of the ethnic minorities in the area. Enjoy the imposing mountain scenery and the terraced fields in harmony with marvellous nature. On the way you will visit the site of ancient sacred rocks carved with mysterious characters and images. See the famous rattan bridge spanning over the Muong Hoa stream. Have lunch and then it’s time for relaxation.
Board the express bus at 16.00 hrs and drive back to Hanoi. Arrival is at around 21:30 hrs
Drop-off at Sapa Express bus station and make your way to your hotel
